Our Mom and Baby Class

Varrah and I have been going to a mom and baby class for a few weeks now. We have fun meeting with other new moms and their babies and talking about new baby issues etc. For me, it is just fun to get out of the house during the day with Varrah and meet with other moms going through some of the same things. In class this week, we put all of our babies together for a photo opp. some of the babies were just not having it. Varrah was the only one looking at the camera for all of the pictures the moms took. I think Auntie Krista would be proud.

Varrah's Baptism

Varrah was baptized this last Sunday and Krista's friend Carlton who is a professional photographer was there to capture the event. We were VERY thankful to have him there, all of the pictures turned out so wonderfully. We will post more pictures as we get them.

Big Hat

We bought this cute hat for Varrah a month ago and she still has not grown into it. It is a 0-6 month hat and we are still waiting. Ohh well, we make her wear it anyways...it is cold outside! Sometimes when we are out driving around, she will make little grunts from her car seat because the hat fell down over her eyes and she can't see.

The Start of Varrah's First Laughs

A Second First!

I saw Varrah concentrate really hard and grasp a toy hanging from her floor play mat yesterday. She seemed to be pretty excited about it too, because for the rest of the night she was grabbing onto whatever she could....my hair, my cell phone, a rattle, a teething ring etc.
Secondly, David discovered that she finally took notice of the pink bear sitting on a shelf above her changing table. Varrah kept staring at this bear last night, so David took it down for her to play with and Varrah gave it a big hug. I took pictures of her with her teddy bear since this was really the first time she has interacted with any of her toys.

A First!

This is the first time Varrah slept the night in her crib. Since she has been born, she has slept in her pack and play in our bedroom. It was sad to have her sleep ALL THE WAY across the hall from us in her nursery, but it was about time and we had to document the proof for the grandmas and grandpas who never thought the day would happen...you guys win! :)

Varrah's New Friend Hazen

We were so blessed to have the chance to visit with Kami and her and Cody's baby Hazen while they were in Minnesota for awhile. Hazen is 6 months old and had a lot to teach little Varrah.

2 Months Old

Varrah is becoming more interactive every day. She smiles all the time now and makes lots of cooing noises when we talk to her. Her favorite place to show her personality is on her changing table. She loves to talk to us while we change her diaper. Varrah had her 2 month check-up last week. She weighs 10lbs 4oz now. She also ended up with a fever of 101.5 from one of the shots she got at the Dr.'s. That was not fun at all, but she is all better now. We heard the Dr. talking in the hallway to a few of the nurses about how amazing Varrah is. Apparently, she is surprising everyone with how advanced she is for only being 2 months old.

Family Christmas Pictures

Once again we are very grateful for Krista and her fabulous talent for taking pictures. Krista took so many wonderful shots of the family and our little pumpkin...our fur baby Piper even got in on a couple of the pictures...if only we had some reindeer antlers for her.

Varrah's First Thanksgiving

Varrah spent her first Thanksgiving in North Dakota and got to meet the the Kensinger side of the family. She still doesn't fit her hats, but we had to put her in the pumpkin one and take a picture.

Varrah is 2 weeks old today and Auntie Krista was there to document her day. Happy 2 week birthday Varrah! She also had an appointment with her pediatrician and she now weighs 7 lbs and is as sweet as ever!

Varrah's First Photo Shoot

Thanks to her wonderful Auntie Krista, Varrah had the opportunity to have professional photos taken in her first week. Krista is a photographer and does just what she is doing for Varrah, takes pictures of children. Auntie Krista came over this Saturday and set up her equipment in our living room and went to work. Varrah was a perfect little angel and cooperated fully. Check out some of the shots below. In a few weeks Krista will be back for a winter/christmas shoot, so check back.
